First day of kinder

Today we are going to meet Anni's teacher and get used to the classroom.  Very exciting.

This morning Anni gave Daddy the 'thumbs up' and I asked her if she 'gave Daddy the thumbs up'.
She replied, 'No only one (thumb)'

Anni is VERY excited about starting big girl school and tells me she is going to make lots of new friends because she likes people sooooo much!

It's been a while

Anni is going to be a big sister and Mummy has been more than a little pre occupied with sleeping and feeling sick.  In the meantime we've had the momentous day of finishing creche, Christmas, New Years and it's almost time to start school!  We have orientation in just 3 weeks.
Here are some (only some) of the things that Anni got for Christmas:
  • wooden doll house
  • wooden balance bike and helmet
  • swim suit, kickboard and floaties
  • books, games and puzzles
  • stickers, magnetic drawing board, craft stuff
  • clothes
  • cooking sets, chefs hats and aprons
  • new engine, bridge and tunnel for her train set
Anni is becoming very independent and this morning woke us at 6.20am, fully toileted and dressed and telling us it was time to get up and have breakfast. (Not so impressed with the time but impressed by her get up and go!)  She is daytime potty trained and is learning self care routines and other household chores like setting the table and clearing up after dinner.  She loves helping to clean and does dusting, hangs up her own washing on her own washing line, vacuums her own room and makes the bed.  Now, if only we could get her to put her toys away when she's finished we'd be set!! : )

The wish for independence has also brought lots of 'interesting' behaviour and at times we find ourselves challenged by her stubborness.  I try to remind myself that she is still only 2 and you can't reason with a 2 year old....... *hmph*

Missy Moo has really come out with some funny insights into the world but for the life of me I can't think of what they are!  I always think I should write it down..... but alas.

She's also looking forward to being a big sister and is setting toys aside 'for the baby.'  She loves to talk to the baby though my belly button and says that she can see it dancing, playing and waving through the hole.  Sweet.  Let's hope she is so enamored when he/she arrives.....
