Cockatoos

Today we went to Grant's on Sherbrooke and fed the birds.
The cockatoos were a little bit too Alfred Hitchcock for Anni - she screamed when they tried to land on her and one cocky stabbed her shoulder with it's giant talon when it tried to land on her!  She recovered quickly though - so long as no birds tried to land ON us.  When one landed on her little friend Harvey's pusher she screamed for it to get off.  Boy can she shriek!!
Anni told me this afternoon;
"The cockatoos got big claws.  Cockatoos naughty and flying and scratched me and stood on your head Mummy.  Cockatoo was happy and smiling 'cause we gave them some food.  I like birds"  so it appears she is not scarred at all by the horror attacking cockies.....

Looking at photos of Uncle Mike's and Aunty Yvanne's wedding

Anni Edmund Hillary

Anni's always been a bit of a climber.  Recently I have had to rearrange her bedroom because I came to get her from her nap and found her sitting on top of her wardrobe!  All toy boxes and other climbable/stackable implements have also been removed.  I've replaced the old storage boxes with new ones from IKEA that collapse if you stand on them.  Pity she is finding them more interesting to climb into than put her toys in them..............
Anni's certainly got a lot to say these days.  The longest sentence I've noticed is something along the lines of 'I have to go to the shop 'cause I want to buy some chocolate.'  She's starting to use possessives and comparatives and some irregular verbs.  You can tell she's learning and extrapolating from what she knows when she says things like;
I did farted.
Him's crying.
I went-ed.
You did eating.
She still can't say toilet or toys. (Replaces the 't' with an 'f.'   IE "I need to go to the foylette")

The current favorites are:
Foxy (as always)
Playschool and Justine Clarke
Wholewheat noodles, apples, apple juice, bread and eggs
Cameras and all things electronic
Any kind of lolly or chocolate.  Cakes.
Swimming and the beach
Running, jumping, climbing, soccer, jumping, wrestling, jumping and jumping some more.

Random car talk

While driving in Heidelberg.
Anni:  "Mummy I can see a horse."
Mummy:  "Oh, what colour was it?"
Anni:  "Brown...... and I saw a pig.  I saw some piggys in Doncaster."
Mummy:  chuckle chuckle

Anni:  "Mummy.  TURN LEFT!  TURN LEFT!  TURN LEFT!"
Mummy:  "Why?"
Anni: " Ummmm.  'Cause."

Little Miss Muffet

Anni sings:
"Little Miss Muffet saddon a tuffet.  Eating her turds and whey........."

Mmmmm, yummy......

Being silly

Anni:  Daddy, can you hear the birds?  They're having a conversation.  There's two birds on the roof and two birds in the sky.  And there's a bird on a horse.
Daddy:  A bird on a horse?  Where?
Anni:  Daddy, don't be silly!  There's no bird on a horse!!!!!
